In comparing our Y to the myriad of other gyms, health clubs and recreation centers in the area, I think my good friend and long-time Y member, Emil Vogel, said it best, “this place is different…it has a soul.”
Well, Emil, I couldn’t agree more. The Y truly is different. It’s a special, welcoming place, where the compassionate and caring staff, volunteers, donors, and wonderfully diverse membership all understand and appreciate the Y’s role in strengthening children, families and the community. For nearly thirty years, the Y has been a remarkably enjoyable part of my day, and I hope to be a part of its continued growth and development for years to come.
