Michelle began working at the Westfield Area YMCA in 2002 in the Member Services Department. Michelle transitioned to the Finance Department where she worked for 7 years, and then joined the HR team in July 2015. Prior to working at the Y, Michelle worked in the Human Resources field for 12 years. Michelle holds a B.S.

Eileen Rooney

Director of Early Childhood (contact for Early Learning Center YMCA)

Eileen began her involvement in the Westfield Area Y preschool program in 1987. She started out as a preschool teacher and after six years became supervisor of the department. Eileen’s program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. In her free time, Eileen enjoys traveling, gardening and cooking.

Melinda McHale

Director of School Age Child Care & Camp

Melinda has been with the Westfield Area Y since 2003 and was promoted to her current position in 2021. Throughout her tenure, Melinda has worked in many of the child care and camp programs. She currently supervises over 120 children in School Age Child Care at the Main Y Facility and oversees the Mountainside afterschool

Shannon McGillis

Garwood Family Center Y Director

Shannon was first hired at the Westfield Area Y in 2001 as a part time lifeguard and swim instructor.  Throughout college she worked at YMCAs in Rhode Island and Maryland. Maureen Martin

Human Resources Director

Maureen has served the Westfield Area Y as Human Resources Director since 1998. Prior to working at the Y, Maureen served as a Human Resources Manager for ten years in the for-profit sector. She is affiliated with the Association of YMCA Professionals, the Society of Human Resource Managers and the YMCA Human Resources Steering Network.

Greg Hatzisavvas

Senior Director Physical Programs

Greg joined the Westfield Area Y in 2008.  In his current position he oversees the health & wellness, sports and competitive aquatics departments. Greg holds a B.S. in Physical Education and an M.S. in Exercise and Sports Studies from William Paterson University.  He is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and USATF Certified Track & Field

Rob Faggiano

Senior Aquatics Director

Rob joined the Westfield Area Y in 1999. He manages and trains the lifeguard and swim instructor staff while continuing to serve in those roles himself. He holds several national certifications including YMCA Lifeguard Instructor, YMCA Swim Instructor Trainer, ASHI Instructor Trainer, and Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Senior Director of SACC, Camp and Teens

Marty has been involved with the Westfield Area Y since 1999 starting out as a part-time skateboarding instructor, gradually taking on more roles overseeing Day Camp, the Teen department, Mountainside before and after care and Club-Mid (middle school aftercare).  Marty has also chaired the NJ YMCA Teen Program network supporting Y directors of teen-related programming

Bonnie Cohen

Communications/Development Director

Bonnie joined the Westfield Area Y staff in 2003. She began her YMCA career in 1985 with the YMCA of Greater New York where she served as Director of Communications.  She then served as Communications Director for the Princeton Family YMCA. Bonnie holds a B.A. in Communications from American University and an M.A. in Counseling
