Class Level
Please be careful in selecting your child’s swim level. Class changes may not be possible once the session begins since classes fill quickly. If you would like to have your child tested for swim level, please ask a member of the aquatics staff.
Minimum Enrollment
Classes that do not meet a minimum enrollment will be cancelled and you will be offered an alternate class if available.
Wait List
If a class is full, please contact the Welcome Center at 908-233-2700 to ask to be added to the wait list. Limited spots may become available as we do try to add classes to accommodate members. Please note you cannot simultaneously be on a wait list and registered for the same class at another day/time.
Makeup
Because of class ratios and the consistency of class structure, we cannot always arrange for a makeup session for a missed class. Makeups will be at the discretion of the aquatics directors and a doctor’s note will be required.
Swim Diapers
Swim Diapers are required for all children that are not toilet trained and for newly-trained children.
Water Quality
In the event of water contamination of the pool, the pool will be closed for up to 24 hours. To protect against this occurrence, please ensure that your child has gone to the bathroom before entering the pool.
Lightning
The pools will be cleared in the event of thunder or lightning. Swimming will not resume until 30 minutes have passed since the last thunderclap is heard. If a storm occurs during a scheduled swim class, safety skills will be taught outside the pool area for the remainder of the lesson. Aquatic staff will make every effort to schedule make-up classes for unscheduled closings and will contact you directly.
Supervision
Preschool and youth lessons: parent/guardian must remain within the respective pool areas (lobby area for the Rooke Pool and balcony area for the Wallace Pool). These are not “drop-off” programs for children under 10.
Youth under the age of 8: must be accompanied and supervised by an adult in the pool during family and open swims.
Youth ages 8 & 9: must have an adult on the pool deck while they are in the pool
Teen members ages 13+: may participate in lap swims
