Programs for Young Adults with Special/Adaptive Needs

These programs offer physical, recreational, and social programs for young adults and teens ages 18+ with special/adaptive needs.

Before registering, Interested participants are required to contact Carly Kaplan, Inclusion Coordinator, to ensure that we are able to accommodate the needs of the participant in the class.

Cooking and Gardening

Monday, 5:30-6:30pm

Young adults ages 18+ with special/adaptive needs explore how fun and rewarding it can be to care for a garden! Participants will then try out delicious and nutritious recipes for snacks and simple dishes using ingredients that are grown in gardens. Located at the Bauer Branch Family YMCA.

Mindfulness Through Movement

Wednesday, 5:30-6:30pm

For young adults ages 18+ with special/adaptive needs, this yoga-based class offers variations and modifications for practicing breathing exercises, movements and postures to promote mindfulness and relaxation. Located at the Main Y Facility.

Game Night

Friday, 4:30-5:30pm

Young adults age 18+ with special/adaptive needs will have all sorts of fun at Game Night! Games will vary and include traditional board games and trivia quiz games. Located at the Main Y Facility.
