Youth Triathlon Team

Develop the skills and endurance to compete in youth triathlon races

Athletes are trained by certified coaches in the triathlon events of swimming, biking and running to prepare for competition. Beginners are coached on the basics of the sport and work toward completing their first triathlon. Experienced triathletes work on improving technique and endurance. Team members are encouraged to come to all practices, but practices are not mandatory so you may continue with other team sports.

Team will participate in sanctioned races. Races are encouraged, but not mandatory and require additional fees.

Athletes must be able to swim 300 yards (non-stop recommended), have a working road or mountain bike appropriate for competition, and a bike helmet.

Season is May 28 – August 23. Tentative practice schedule is Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-7:30PM with additional practices (1-2 per week) to be scheduled based on the needs/availability of the athletes. Location: Main Y and local area.

Athletes registered for the 2019 Devilfish Spring Training/Long Course Prep season or the 2019 Flyers Summer Track Competitive Team receive a 50% discount.
