Shannon McGillis Jackson

Assistant Vice President of Child Care Services

Shannon is a dedicated professional with a passion for working with children and families. With 20+ years of experience working for the YMCA, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a proactive approach to childcare and youth services. 

Prior to her current position, Shannon was first hired at the Westfield Area Y in 2001 as a part time lifeguard and swim instructor. Throughout college she worked at YMCAs in Rhode Island and Maryland.

After graduating from Towson University with a B.S. in Mass Communication minoring in Public Relations, she returned to the Westfield Area YMCA and found her true passion working with children and families. She worked as the Associate Director of SACC, Teens & Camp (as well as a brief stint in Marketing) and most recently, for 11 years prior to her most recent position, she was The Garwood Family Center Y Director. 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family & friends, especially her 2 daughters, McKayla & Hannah Jo.
