Susan Morton

Chief Executive Officer

Susan joined the Westfield Area Y in 1989 and stepped into her current role as CEO in June 2024.  Over the course of her 30-year tenure, she has overseen early learning, school-age child care, camp, and teen programs.  In 2015, Susan was promoted to VP of Operations, and in 2023 she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Susan has played an integral role in the expansion of the Y’s child care programs, growing from one Main Y site to an additional four early learning facilities and before and after school programs in all four of our Y’s service area towns.  She also shepherds the financial assistance program and is the lead facilitator and trainer for Stewards of Children, a nationally recognized child sexual abuse prevention training program.

Susan works closely with all the directors to ensure high-quality programming for the community.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Kean University and a New Jersey teaching certification.

She resides in Scotch Plains and enjoys spending her free time with her family.
