Lena Fagan-Nelson

Director of Early Learning

Lena joined the YMCA in 2014 as an intern in the sports department and continuously grew in the Y through various coordinator and supervisor roles in the sports, fitness, parties, and childcare departments. She was also a unit director for camp. Lena joined the management team in her current role in 2022.  She holds an Associate’s Degree in Sports Management from Union County College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management from Rutgers University.

One thing Lena loves about the YMCA is the opportunity to grow and learn within. She also loves to interact and work with people of all ages from babies to senior members. To her, children have always held a special place within, as they are the foundation of our future generations. Given the opportunity to help shape and foster those fundamentals is crucial. Lena loves a challenge and looks forward to furthering her career at the YMCA.

In her spare time, Lena enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes to stay active by exercising and playing sports. Her biggest adventure yet is raising her son Nyjah and loves every moment of it.
