Tarajee Russell

Assistant Director of Camp and School Age Childcare

Tarajee joined the Westfield Area YMCA team in 2004 and has been dedicated to maintaining and contributing to the Y's family atmosphere. Her first role was in full-day childcare, and she expanded her contributions across various programs including camp, school age childcare, parties, Leader’s Club, and Achievers. Over the years, Tarajee has grown professionally and transitioned between full-time and part-time positions culminating in her recent promotion to Assistant Director of Camp and School Age Childcare in June 2024. Alongside her new responsibilities, Tarajee continues to serve as Puddle Jumpers Camp Director and McKinley Aftercare Coordinator.

Originally from Newark, NJ, Tarajee has been a resident of Hillside for 27 years. She holds an undergraduate degree from Ramapo College in Psychology and Africana Studies, and an MBA specializing in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Tarajee is deeply involved in community service, enjoys line dancing with Hillside Movers and Shakers, cherishes family time, and serves as an ordained Reverend at Love of Jesus Family Church of Newark. She is also a founding member of the Hillside branch of the NAACP.
